Zanskar win Paddling Achievement Award...
This was the first ever Irish Outdoor Adventure Awards
ceremony - an initiative set up by Outsider magazine.
Damien Hackett explained the purpose of the awards
as an effort to recognise the achievements of those
who put their lives on hold to pursue their sport,
with little support or funding...
The list of nominees was very strong - with Moe's
6th position in the world champs, Team S7G's mission
to Siberia and Eileen Murphy's solo circumnavigation
of Ireland. It must also be said that there were many
very deserving candidates not in the final's list
- in particular Rob Coffey and Ali Donald for their
Blue Nile success in 2004.
Anyway, Zanskar ended up taking it, so thanks to everyone
who made that possible.

2006 - Site changes...
Due to massive growth in content, the RiverNomad site
will be re-organised over the coming weeks. There are
now more items in the main menu to help make content
easier to find. Some new pages have also been added.
The main resource of the site, RiverGlobal, is now simply
labelled Articles. We look forward to new pieces
from Chile, Ecuador, Siberia, Costa Rica and more...
There are also new developments brewing with RiverNomad
charities, photography, film, team and media...
Irish Banter will continue to keep folks at
home up to speed on latest developments, while we build
a more comprehensive list of web Resources
for paddlers worldwide. Finally, our Instruction
page will provide a resource for people looking for
skills progression.
So stay tuned, there's lots of great content on the
way... but it won't change overnight. I'm only human!
Please email your comments to colin@rivernomad.com.
